The purpose of this site is to supplement the Home Page site for the 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, noted in the above Link, by making available for reading outstanding memoirs and writings of soldiers who told the inside story of the Civil War as no one else could do. Several Links are provided to allow readers to enter the trenches with these soldiers and sense their personal feelings of exhaustion, fear, excitement, brotherhood of battle, patriotism and pride of country second to none. These Materials are taken directly from the National Archives, the Ohio Historical Society, and the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center.
